Agrobank is targeting to provide RM290 million in micro funding to its target groups this year compared to only RM180 million last year.
Its president/chief executive officer, Syed Alwi Mohamed Sultan said the funding is to assist entrepreneurs expand their operations or take their projects to a higher level.
“It also shows the commitment of Agrobank to focus on empowering entrepreneurs including women, B40 group and the disabled.
“Reception in the first quarter is still below the target level but we will have time to promote the facility to achieve it,” he said after attending an Agro Agenda programme on Prospects and Opportunities in the Agriculture Sector here today.
Terengganu is the first destination for the programme this year with focus on challenges faced by Small and Medium Industries (SMI). – BERNAMA
