7-Eleven continues its CSR initiative Semurni Kasih in conjunction with Ramadan

In the spirit of giving back to the community, 7-Eleven will continue its annual corporate social responsibility (CSR) Community Care initiative – Semurni Kasih in conjunction with Ramadan with the aim of empowering the lives of those in needs.

In collaboration with non-governmental organisations (NGOs) NGOHub Asia, the objective is to further expanding its network to enable the NGO to reach out to the targeted segment where the beneficiaries of Semurni Kasih receives food and non-food products.

Both Wong Wai Keong and Tan U-Ming, Co-Chief Executive Officers (Co-CEOs) and Executive Director of 7-Eleven shared the same sentiment said, “It is crucial to us as we try to reach as many people as possible and assist them especially while many still faces the aftermath of COVID-19 economic closure. As Semurni Kasih is our annual program, we hope that we can bring joy for other people through this CSR initiative especially to those in needs.”

“Under this CSR programme, we aim to encourage more shoppers at 7-Eleven store to join in the effort to contribute to the less fortunate members of our community especially during this holy month of Ramadan,” they added.

This initiative is done during the holy month of Ramadan as part of 7-Eleven efforts to encourage its customers to do charity. Customers can purchase items they wish to donate at 7-Eleven store and put it in the donation boxes available at all 7-Eleven stores nationwide.

They added, there is an increase in donation amount and numbers of NGOs benefitted from the initiative. In 2022, 7-Eleven has donated over RM4.8 million to the beneficiaries through its annual donation drives and campaigns such as Semurni Kasih, Lend A Helping, #BuatBaikTogether and many more.

During the Berbuka Puasa event at Berjaya Times Square Hotel, 7-Eleven has launched Hari-Hari Hari Raya Campaign, an initiative driven by 7-Eleven to increase its brand awareness and promotional offers through its F&B segment, 7-CAFé by 7-Eleven to engage with its customers as well as help small and local businesses in Malaysia.
