ALIFE Malaysia, acronym for Malaysian Association for Arts, Live Events, Concerts and Festivals has positioned itself as a cornerstone of Malaysia’s live entertainment ecosystem, advocating for event producers, promoters, venue operators, and service providers alike. By pushing for regulatory clarity, improved industry standards, and fair taxation practices, ALIFE has consistently championed the collective interests of its members.
At ALIFE’s Eid Synergy event recently, Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil announced the Concert and Event in Malaysia Incentives (CEMI), targeted to revitalise the entertainment industry by providing funding to promoters of high-profile events and concerts. CEMI programme is a ground-breaking initiative introduced by the Ministry of Communications to support Malaysia’s live events scene.
Set to launch on 15 May 2025, CEMI will allocate RM10 million annually to support events drawing over 15,000 attendees and showcasing both local and international talent. The initiative, managed by MyCreative Ventures with the Ministry’s support, is part of a broader effort to cement Malaysia’s position as a premier entertainment hub in the region.

Datuk Fahmi also said a new version of the Puspal guidelines (GPP 6.0) would be introduced effective 1st May to streamline the management of events, to ensure the application process is more industry-friendly, transparent and smooth. The GPP contains government policies, application procedures and regulations related to foreign film productions and performances by international artistes. “The improvements were important in building a progressive, safe and internationally recognised entertainment ecosystem.”
According to Datuk Alan Foo, the Chairman of ALIFE Malaysia, as Malaysia positions itself on the global entertainment map, ALIFE’s commitment to innovation, accessibility, and advocacy ensures the industry continue to prosper. The stage is set for a vibrant, secure, and united future, and it is ALIFE’s continued leadership and innovation that are actively unifying the industry and creating long-term sustainability.
At the event, Brian Johnson Lowe, the Deputy Chairman of ALIFE, introduced three initiatives currently being undertaken by the association. At the forefront is the ALIFE Website & Member Portal, a transformative platform that will allow members to manage their profiles, access vital documents, and tap into a centralised industry database. Soon, the portal will also host an Annual Industry Report, providing stakeholders with key insights, data-driven trends, and policy updates—all in one place.

This centralisation not only empowers event organisers with easier access to critical information but also fosters transparency and collaboration across the industry. It’s a vital step towards building a more connected, data-informed ecosystem for all entertainment professionals in Malaysia.
ALIFE continues to enhance the audience experience through ALIFE Encore, an exclusive benefit offering early access and special discounts to selected shows. This initiative creates a closer bond between audiences and performers, incentivising early ticket sales while simultaneously supporting artists and promoters. By championing audience engagement, ALIFE Encore encourages consistent participation in live events, driving demand and improving the financial viability of the arts.
The third initiative addresses the growing concerns about online ticket fraud and scalping. ALIFE’s TiketSelamat campaign is an initiative focused on creating a safer environment for ticket purchasing through public education, partnerships with ticketing platforms, and industry best practices. TiketSelamat aims to increase consumer confidence and protect event-goers, reinforcing the credibility of Malaysia’s entertainment scene.

Through initiatives like the Member Portal, ALIFE Encore, and TiketSelamat, ALIFE continues to unite the many dynamic parts of the entertainment industry involving the artists, audiences, organisers, and policymakers into a more cohesive, forward-thinking community.
