Credit Bureau Malaysia becomes first Malaysian Partner App on Grab platform

Credit Bureau Malaysia (CBM) has partnered with Grab Malaysia to introduce the first Malaysian Partner App on Grab’s platform, marking a significant step towards expanding public access to credit information.

CBM, a registered credit reporting agency under the Ministry of Finance and a member of Sunway Group, said the collaboration enables Malaysians to conveniently access credit insights through a trusted and widely used digital platform.

The newly launched CBM Partner App, available directly within the Grab application, allows users to obtain the CBM MyScore Report, a personalised credit scoring tool designed to help individuals and businesses make informed financial decisions.

CBM Chairman and Sunway Group Deputy President Evan Cheah said the partnership represents an important milestone in the organisation’s long-term commitment to empower Malaysians, particularly micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

“The collaboration ensures that credit insights are easily accessible on a platform trusted by millions of Malaysians, in line with Sunway’s aspiration of nation building,” he said.

CBM Chief Executive Officer Soo Chin Kang described the initiative as a meaningful advancement in promoting financial literacy, inclusion and responsible credit behaviour.

“By embedding credit insights within a familiar digital environment, financial learning becomes more intuitive and less intimidating for everyday users,” he added.

The collaboration comes amid growing emphasis on financial inclusion under the Malaysia National Strategy for Financial Literacy 2026–2030, which prioritises enhancing financial awareness and encouraging sound financial habits across income groups.

It also addresses the needs of gig workers, micro-entrepreneurs and young earners, many of whom may have limited visibility of their credit standing despite being active participants in the digital economy.

Grab Malaysia Director of Commercial and Deliveries Tan Jiong Jian said integrating CBM’s services into the Grab app supports the company’s goal of delivering essential services through a seamless digital ecosystem.

“Welcoming Credit Bureau Malaysia as our first Malaysian Partner App reflects our commitment to making financial information more accessible. Users can now access CBM’s services within the Grab app without requiring multiple downloads, strengthening the digital financial ecosystem for customers as well as our driver-, delivery- and merchant-partners,” he said.

CBM is jointly owned by Sunway Group and Credit Guarantee Corporation Malaysia Berhad. It was the first credit reporting agency granted access to Bank Negara Malaysia’s Central Credit Reference Information System (CCRIS), enabling it to provide comprehensive credit data and analytics for individuals, MSMEs and financial institutions.

Grab, Southeast Asia’s leading superapp, operates across eight countries, offering mobility, delivery and digital financial services. The introduction of the CBM Partner App further enhances Grab’s platform by integrating additional everyday services into a single, cohesive digital experience.
