The Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) has successfully concluded the 2025 edition of DEX CONNEX, a flagship series under its Gateway, Amplify, Invest and Nurture (GAIN) programme.
This platform continues to play a key role in linking Malaysian technology companies with high-growth regional markets, driving substantial digital export opportunities and reinforcing Malaysia’s position as ASEAN’s leading digital hub.
This year’s DEX CONNEX connected 217 Malaysian technology companies with high- potential markets across Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam, fostering robust cross-border collaborations and unlocking new pathways for growth.
The 2025 edition secured more than RM1 billion in estimated digital export opportunities, with a total of 55 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and Memoranda of Agreement (MoAs) exchanged with 219 partners across the region.
These agreements spanned strategic sectors including artificial intelligence (AI), cloud services, digital platforms, smart city solutions, cybersecurity, fintech, data centres and agritech.
MDEC Chief Executive Officer, Anuar Fariz Fadzil, underscored the broader significance of the initiative, noting its role in cementing Malaysia’s leadership in regional collaboration.
“DEX CONNEX is more than a platform—it is a catalyst for building resilient, inclusive, and sustainable digital ecosystems across ASEAN. By connecting technology companies with global markets, we are creating high-value opportunities that empower businesses, nurture talent, and position Malaysia as a leading digital ecosystem,” he said.
Anuar further added “By fostering cross-border collaborations, we are not only driving economic growth but also ensuring that digital transformation benefits all layers of society, creating a future-ready workforce and sustainable digital economies.”
Since its inception in 2017, the GAIN programme through DEX CONNEX has generated RM47.13 billion in revenue and RM15.4 billion in exports, cementing its role as a catalyst for Malaysia’s global digital economy expansion.
This year’s achievements further align with the Malaysia Digital Economy Blueprint, reinforcing the nation’s ambition for the digital economy to contribute 25.5% to Malaysia’s GDP by 2030.
