Hyundai Motor Malaysia eyes 2026 expansion, aftersales push and N brand introduction

Hyundai Motor Malaysia (HMY) is setting its sights on an expanded nationwide footprint and a stronger ownership ecosystem in 2026, as it sharpens its positioning as a ‘Smart Premium’ automotive brand offering accessible yet refined mobility solutions.

Outlining its business direction today, the company said its 2026 strategy centres on network expansion, comprehensive aftersales support under the myHyundaiCare programme and a refreshed product pipeline, including the planned introduction of the Hyundai N performance brand in Malaysia.

Managing Director of Hyundai Motor Malaysia, Jahabarnisa Haja Mohideen, said the brand aims to strike a balance between premium quality and everyday practicality.

“Our ambition is to be the smarter choice for customers who value reliability, innovation, comfort and modern design, without compromising on attainability,” she said.

As part of this vision, Hyundai is on track to expand its dealership and service network to 25 outlets nationwide by end-2026, up from the current 12. The expansion includes broader coverage in East Malaysia, following the signing of letters of intent with six new partners between 2025 and early 2026, enhancing accessibility and customer support across the country.

A key pillar of Hyundai’s strategy is strengthening the ownership journey through myHyundaiCare. Initiatives include revised service and maintenance support to lower overall ownership costs, reduced hybrid battery replacement expenses through modular repairs, free vehicle inspections, festive service campaigns and mobile technical support teams.

Customers will also benefit from service clinics, continued eight-year or 160,000-kilometre warranty coverage, improved spare parts availability from the Glenmarie distribution hub and value protection through the Hyundai Protection Plan in collaboration with multiple insurance partners.

On the product front, Hyundai will continue refreshing its line-up with the locally assembled new TUCSON and all-new SANTA FE slated for launch in the second quarter of 2026.

The company will also introduce a new B-segment MPV, while the STARIA 10-seater, launched earlier this year, further strengthens its people-mover offerings.

Significantly, Hyundai confirmed plans to bring its high-performance Hyundai N brand to Malaysia in 2026, starting with the IONIQ 5 N and IONIQ 6 N electric models.

Hyundai Motor Malaysia President Eric Lee said the company remains committed to long-term growth and customer relationships. “We are here for the long haul, always by our customers’ side,” he said.
