NEC APAC, LAC to promote cybersecurity in SMEs

Singapore-based information and communications technology provider, NEC Asia Pacific Pte Ltd (NEC APAC) has formed a strategic alliance with LAC Co Ltd (LAC), a leading security provider in Japan to promote cybersecurity in the Asia Pacific region.

In a statement, the company said the partnership would result in the introduction of a fully managed security service targeted at small and medium enterprises (SMEs) this year.

“Delivered directly from the cloud platform, this low-cost and scalable managed security solution provides round-the-clock monitoring and surveillance of information technology (IT) infrastructure, including enterprise level firewall and Intrusion Detection System/Intrusion Prevention System.

“Both companies will also jointly offer hands-on training service to help customers improve cybersecurity awareness in organisations and equip in-house cybersecurity experts with necessary skills and capabilities, such as malware analysis, incident response, intrusion detection, digital forensics and vulnerability assessment,” it said.

The partnership will also allow NEC APAC to reinforce its existing security operation centre (SOC) capabilities with LAC’s market-leading cyber threat intelligence and dedicated team of analysts to offer comprehensive incident response services for customers in the Asia Pacific.

“We are committed to building safer and more reliable cyberspace through innovative cybersecurity solutions for the Asia Pacific market,” said the NEC APAC Managed Service Business Unit vice-president Job Chan. – BERNAMA
