New Medini facility in Iskandar Puteri

Iskandar Investment Bhd (IIB) stated that more than RM2.5 million will be invested in developing and operating a Common Ground Iskandar Space (CGIS) in Iskandar Puteri, Johor Baru which provides a landing pad for digital start-up companies.

CGIS is geared towards building a ‘digitech’ community which will include Small And Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the urban suburb of Medini.

The project is a collaboration between IIB Ventures Sdn Bhd and Common Ground Works Sdn Bhd.

CGIS, which is slated to open in January next year, will be the first co-working space in Johor to be operated by Common Ground.

This latest initiative was another milestone for IIB to develop and implement an IR4.0-based technology ecosystem in support of Johor’s Vision 2030 as well as the nation’s MyDigital Blueprint.

IIB said Medini Iskandar has been identified as the Johor Digital Hub, since Medini is now ready with comprehensive infrastructure as an innovation hub.

More than 100 businesses and social events are expected to be curated at CGIS within the next 12 months.
