P & A Prospect Sdn. Bhd. was formed in 2019 by an ardent and enthusiastic founder, Mr. Yong Hsien Ping, along with his dedicated wife Ms. Angeline Ng Soo Thin. The company logo was registered as a trademark in 2022. Mr. Yong Hsien Ping built his empire in his hometown of Kapit, growing from a small team of 3 to over 100 people, all thanks to his loving wife’s support over the years, and his unwavering determination and perseverance that enabled him to gain a foothold in the industry through multiple entrepreneurial ventures.
Mr. Yong Hsien Ping said that his family was engaged in development works, and he originally worked in his father’s company. After working there for eight years, he decided to go out and explore the world to see what abilities he could have without the protection of his family.

P & A Prospect Sdn. Bhd. is a privately held company specializing in engineering and construction development work, including the supply of building materials and equipment transportation. P & A also handles all construction works from renovations to road works and entire property developments and is widely recognized and highly recommended in the industry, including key projects such as the 5km road infrastructure for the Nanga Tulie project in 2023, the new waterfront for the Selangau Waterfront project in 2022, and Kapit Town Square in 2020.
P & A supplies construction materials including precast concrete, mortar, bricks, washed sand, stone, asphalt for road construction and construction equipment. “We undertake all construction works from renovation to road works and complete property development. We also undertake all delivery services such as trailer services, crane services and dump truck services,” said Mr. Yong Hsien Ping.
P & A has gained market recognition as a trusted domestic supplier of building materials. Reputation is built on quality, reliability and expertise to meet a variety of project needs.
Mr. Yong said he started out as a transporter, delivering construction materials to longhouses, and later took on government projects. In 2018, he set up P&A to take on more projects. The difficulty he encountered when starting a business was that others owed his money or delayed paying it back. Due to lack of experience and poor calculations, he suffered losses in his first business venture. “The second time I started the business, I broke even, and the situation improved afterwards, allowing me to find a profit model and continue to expand my business,” said Mr. Yong Hsien Ping.
P & A started with two trucks, and the business has grown bigger and bigger. P & A currently owns 50 construction machines of various types, and the business is still expanding. Mr. Yong said that although the price of building materials has risen, he has made estimates and budgets when he participated in the bidding, so everything is under control.
The P&A team’s tenacity in management and leadership has earned them a reputation for quality, reliability and skills to meet a variety of project needs to improve efficiency, effectiveness and profitability, productivity, cost and budget. The team also drafts reports, discusses developments and issues at board meetings and develops business plans to maximize the company’s growth rate and minimize costs.
