SUBPLACE, MDEC to launch Go-eCommerce Onboarding Campaign for SMEs

SUBPLACE, in collaboration with Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), has launched a Go-eCommerce Onboarding Campaign to help local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) conduct business online.

The timely campaign aims to provide relief to businesses struggling to keep afloat from continued Movement Control Orders (MCO) enacted to contain the Covid-19 pandemic, and was also spearheaded to help SMEs offset the cost of moving businesses online as part of a nationwide digitalization effort in line with digital economy targets.

โ€œThe pandemic has changed consumersโ€™ behaviours, with a higher number of people choosing to shop online than ever before.

โ€œWith the Go-eCommerce Onboarding Campaign Business Fund, we hope to help more SMEs transform their businesses to a subscription business to help get through these difficult times,โ€ said Mak Wai Hoong, CEO of SUBPLACE.

โ€œWith strong support from the Government and effective public-private collaborations, we aim to further catalyse the growth of eCommerce in Malaysia and of equal importance, sustaining livelihoods and jobs in the process.

โ€œTogether, we can accomplish the goals of MyDIGITAL and place us firmly on-course towards Malaysia 5.0; a globally competitive digital nation, anchored on inclusivity, sustainability and shared prosperity, firmly establishing Malaysia as the Heart of Digital ASEAN,โ€ said Surina Shukri, CEO, MDEC.

With support from the Government, SMEs will be offered:

– 100 per cent waiver on setup fees on the platform worth RM1,000

– For the premium package, SMEs will receive subsidies of up to RM1,500 each, inclusive of yearly training, tech support, and monthly maintenance on top of the RM1,000 setup fee

– A 2 per cent discount on the transaction fee will also be given to new and existing Biz Partners
The Go-eCommerce Onboarding Campaign Business Fund is open to all local retailers and SMEs registered with the Companies Commission of Malaysia (Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia or SSM). Merchants will need to register and submit a copy of SSM and bank statement.

The Go eCommerce Onboarding Campaign will commence from 1st July 2021 to 31st December 2021. The fee waiver will be automatically applied for all merchants who sign up before 31 Dec 2021. More information about the campaign can be found at subplace.com/bizpartner/go_eommerce2021.
