Wellspire Holdings Bhd has inked a strategic cooperation agreement with Khee San Bhd to be the latter’s sole and exclusive distributor of its products as it expands into the Thailand confectionery market.
The strategic cooperation agreement was made by both entities’ subsidiary companies with Global Trading Sdn Bhd representing Wellspire and Khee San Food Industries Sdn Bhd on behalf of Khee San Bhd.
The partnership will combine Wellspire’s infrastructure, distribution channels and marketing expertise in Thailand with Khee San’s manufacturing and packaging capabilities in the mass market consumer food industry.
While both companies are hoping for a fruitful outcome to their strategic partnership Wellspire will distribute, import, export, sell and resell Khee San products such as Fruit Plus and Kiss Me from Aug 23, 2023 to Aug 22, 2026.
Industry observers who witnessed the signing of the strategic cooperation agreement commented that the snack market in Thailand is a very huge market by merely looking at the statistics but cautioned that the signatories must expect challenges.
On their part, the Malaysian government is engaged in a number of initiatives to retain inflation which will assist the two companies, especially for the necessary ingredients such as sugar and flour.
