Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS) 2026

Invest Selangor Bhd has unveiled an ambitious roadmap for the 10th edition of the Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS) 2026, marking a decade of the state’s flagship investment platform while setting the stage for broader regional engagement.

The summit will be held from Oct 14 to 17, 2026 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre and will introduce a new regional activation initiative known as SIBS@ASEAN as part of its strategy to expand cross-border business collaboration.

Launched in 2015 under the name Selangor International Expo (SIE), SIBS has grown significantly from a modest trade exhibition into a key regional business platform. Over the past decade, participation has increased sharply, with visitor numbers rising from 4,316 in its inaugural year to 57,249 in 2023, representing a growth of more than 1,200 per cent.

The summit has also established itself as a platform for industry dialogue and policy discussions, hosting more than 1,081 speakers and attracting over 23,000 conference participants to date.

In terms of economic outcomes, the event has recorded substantial growth in potential transaction value, climbing from around RM200 million in its early years to a record RM13.85 billion in 2024. Cumulatively, SIBS has facilitated RM30.56 billion in potential transactions, reinforcing Selangor’s position as Malaysia’s leading economic contributor.

Entering its second decade, SIBS 2026 will introduce three new specialised pillars aimed at strengthening Selangor’s investment ecosystem across multiple sectors.

These include the Selangor Techsphere Summit, organised by the Selangor Technical Skills Development Centre (STDC) in collaboration with Hannover Fairs Asia Pacific, a subsidiary of Deutsche Messe AG, which will focus on industrial innovation and technical talent development.

Another addition is the Selangor AI & Semiconductor Summit 2026, organised by the Selangor Information Technology and Digital Economy Corporation (SIDEC), highlighting opportunities within high-value digital industries.

The third pillar, the Selangor International Care Expo, organised by Wanita Berdaya Selangor (WBS), will spotlight the growing care economy and inclusive development.

These new segments will complement the summit’s established programmes, namely the Selangor ASEAN Business Conference (SABC) and the Selangor Investment and Industrial Park Expo (SPARK).

Two additional initiatives will also be introduced during the summit — the Selangor Investment Forum, a high-level seminar series focusing on strategic industries, and the Selangor Career Outreach Talent Expo, a career fair organised in collaboration with the Social Security Organisation (PERKESO) to address talent needs arising from approved investments in the state.

To commemorate its 10th anniversary, Invest Selangor will also roll out SIBS@ASEAN, a regional engagement strategy aimed at transforming the summit into a broader ASEAN business platform.

The inaugural international activation under this initiative, SIBS@ASEAN Bandung Edition, will take place from July 9 to 10, 2026 in Bandung, Indonesia.

Bandung was selected as the first destination due to its economic similarities with Selangor, with both regions serving as major industrial and innovation hubs in their respective countries, supported by strong manufacturing, technology and small and medium enterprise (SME) ecosystems.
