SEMICON Southeast Asia 2026

SEMICON Southeast Asia 2026 (SEMICON SEA 2026), a key regional platform for the global semiconductor and electronics manufacturing supply chain, will be held in Malaysia from May 5 to 7, 2026 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC).

The event returns to Malaysia following its 2025 edition in Singapore and is expected to bring together industry leaders, innovators and stakeholders to address emerging trends and challenges shaping the semiconductor sector.

Carrying the theme ‘Transform Tomorrow’, the 2026 edition will focus on critical areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), intelligent manufacturing, sustainability, workforce development, advanced packaging and supply chain integration.

Among the main highlights is the emphasis on AI and intelligent manufacturing, featuring dedicated forums and a showcase on advanced production capabilities, including automation, digitalisation and sustainable manufacturing practices.

Sustainability will also be a central theme, with a three-day programme and a dedicated pavilion focusing on energy efficiency, emissions management and environmentally responsible operations, reflecting the industry’s increasing focus on sustainable growth.

In line with Malaysia’s aspiration to strengthen its semiconductor talent pool, the event will feature various workforce development initiatives such as the TECH Zoomers Bootcamp, TalentCONNECT and mentoring sessions. These efforts support the National Semiconductor Strategy, which targets the training of 60,000 highly skilled engineers by 2030.

The programme will also include discussions on advanced packaging and heterogeneous integration, highlighting their role in enabling next-generation semiconductor innovation and enhancing value creation across the industry.

Additionally, a Suppliers Sourcing Programme will facilitate business matching sessions between global buyers and suppliers, aimed at fostering new partnerships and strengthening regional supply chain linkages.

Key programme highlights include the Executive Leadership Summit, a closed-door session for industry leaders to discuss market outlook and resilience strategies, as well as the Sustainability and Energy Summit focusing on operational efficiency and environmental considerations.

The event will also feature the MIDA Forum on advancing Malaysia’s semiconductor ecosystem through strategic supply chain integration, alongside the Tech Zoomers Challenge final competition and TalentCONNECT platform, which emphasises talent acquisition and development in a rapidly evolving industry.

SEMICON SEA 2026 is poised to play a significant role in reinforcing Malaysia’s position as a key hub in the global semiconductor value chain while supporting industry growth and innovation in the region.
