Alliance Laundry Systems (ALS), the global leader in commercial laundry equipment, announced the launch of Stax-X in Malaysia – a stacked washer-dryer solution designed for first-time investors, SME entrepreneurs, and compact-format laundry operators looking to enter or expand within the country’s resilient self-service laundry sector
Built for high efficiency in limited retail space, Stax-X offers full commercial-grade washing and drying power in a vertically stacked configuration, featuring trusted brands such as Speed Queen, Huebsch, IPSO, and Primus.
The machine integrates Quantum Gold Controlm, ALS’s advanced management system – providing programmable cycles, upsell features, and flexible pricing tools that help operators optimise revenue and throughput across business hours.
“Malaysia has a strong and growing SME sector, and the self-service laundry space continues to attract first-time investors and microbusiness owners. Stax-X is our way of supporting that growth offering quality, performance, and simplicity in one stack,” said Eddie Tay, Senior Sales Director APAC, Alliance Laundry Systems.
As more entrepreneurs look for sustainable, low-overhead business models, particularly in the service and franchise segments, laundromat operations are gaining popularity due to their low staffing requirements, stable demand, and recurring revenue.
Stax-X was developed by regional R&D team and tested at StarLab, ALS’s regional product testing and R&D hub in Chonburi, Thailand. This innovation was made possible by a US$4.5 million investment into factory upgrades, engineering capabilities, and market-specific product testing across Southeast Asia. The launch is part of ALS’s global commitment to innovation, backed by a US$300 million multi-year R&D investment across engineering, software, and product development.
Stax-X is available in two capacity variants 13KG and 22KG, both engineered for high usage durability and low downtime maintenance.
