Green GSM, a company offering electric ride-hailing services, has partnered with Xentro Motors, part of the Xentro Group of Companies, to bring 2,000 electric vehicles (EV) to the Philippines. This partnership supports the country’s goal of shifting to cleaner and more eco-friendly transportation.
The agreement involves the delivery of 2,000 electric vehicles from VinFast, a well-known electric car manufacturer. The first 1,000 units have already been secured, while the rest will arrive within two years. These vehicles will operate under the name Green Xentro powered by Green GSM and will be seen in Metro Manila and other major cities once all permits are completed.
These electric vehicles will feature Green GSM’s signature cyan color and meet environmental standards already used in other countries. Known for being quiet, clean, and comfortable, VinFast cars are expected to improve the ride experience for passengers.
Green GSM started its electric ride-hailing service in the Philippines earlier this year. The company is working with local partners to grow its network while meeting all local rules. Xentro Motors sees this partnership as a way to help promote greener transport in the country.
Xentro Motors will also use its nationwide mall network, called Xentro Malls, to support the service. These malls will have pick-up zones, charging stations, and parking spaces for electric vehicles. This will make it easier for both passengers and drivers to access the service and help bring sustainability into Xentro’s business operations.
VinFast will also provide services like vehicle maintenance, charging support, and help for drivers, making the operation more efficient and reliable.
Leaders from both companies shared their excitement about the partnership. Xentro Motors CEO Noel Ignacio said the project shows how progress and sustainability can work together. Green GSM’s Southeast Asia head, Dao Quy Phi, said that this marks a big step for electric transport in the region and praised Xentro Motors as their first local partner in the Philippines.
Together, Green GSM and Xentro Motors hope to make electric ride-hailing more available across the country and encourage more people to switch to cleaner ways of travel.
