CIMB OCTOFest brings Ramadan-Raya festivities closer to communities and MSMEs

CIMB Bank Berhad is strengthening its commitment to customers and communities through CIMB OCTOFest, a series of events held in conjunction with the Ramadan fasting month and the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations.

The initiative aims to combine commerce, culture and community engagement while supporting micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in expanding digital payment adoption during the festive season.

CIMB Group Chief Brand and Marketing Officer Toni Darusman said Ramadan and Hari Raya Aidilfitri represent an important period for families and businesses alike, making it an ideal time to foster connections and share meaningful experiences.

“With CIMB OCTOFest, we want to bring people together to celebrate the spirit of the season while sharing blessings with the community,” he said in a statement.

He added that the campaign theme, Semua Lebih Hebat dengan CIMB, reflects the idea that festive moments become more meaningful when experienced collectively.

“In a rapidly changing environment, traditions can sometimes be overlooked. At CIMB, we believe these traditions remain an integral part of our communities and we aim to make Ramadan and Raya celebrations more rewarding, seamless and impactful,” he said.

Darusman noted that through the bank’s Kita Bagi Jadi spirit, CIMB continues to help keep traditions relevant while creating economic opportunities for entrepreneurs and delivering value to customers preparing for Hari Raya.

Among the highlights of the programme is a three-day festive event organised in collaboration with KL Foodie from March 6 to 8 at MyTOWN Shopping Centre, featuring more than 50 local vendors alongside cultural showcases and live performances.

The festivities also extend to popular Ramadan bazaars in Taman Tun Dr Ismail (TTDI) and Bangsar.

Visitors to the event can enjoy various activities including festive food sampling, the ‘Rumah ASEAN’ showcase featuring brands from Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore, as well as interactive experiences at ‘Rumah Riang CIMB’, which offers batik tie-dye workshops and sand art activities.

Live performances by singer Bella Astillah, along with CIMB Rising Star talents Scha Nuril and Firdaus, also form part of the entertainment lineup.

Other highlights include traditional games such as the Big Congkak Challenge and Giant Batu Seremban, karaoke sessions, bubur lambuk distribution, festive workshops and the CIMB Hadiah Raya Challenge.

CIMB has also integrated digital engagement touchpoints during the event, offering QR payment options through CIMB OCTO and CIMB OCTO Biz to encourage cashless transactions among visitors and participating vendors.

Customers who make purchases via QR payment will receive special merchandise, while entrepreneurs benefit from more efficient transactions and improved cash flow during the festive period.
