Hyundai Motor Malaysia (HMY) has unveiled a preview of its upcoming Hyundai STARGAZER at the Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show (KLIMS) 2026, with bookings now open ahead of the model’s official market launch.
The public showcase, which runs throughout the second half of the exhibition at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), offers visitors an early look at Hyundai’s latest people mover aimed at meeting the evolving needs of Malaysian families.
The introduction of the STARGAZER marks another milestone in Hyundai’s local expansion strategy following the establishment of Hyundai Motor Malaysia as a direct subsidiary, while strengthening its presence in the growing family-oriented vehicle segment.
Managing Director Jahabarnisa Haja Mohideen described the STARGAZER as a ‘WEhicle’, reflecting Hyundai’s focus on creating a vehicle centred around the people who use it rather than the vehicle itself.
“The concept places families at the heart of the driving experience. Safety, connectivity and convenience have been integrated to ensure every journey is comfortable and enjoyable for all occupants,” she said in a statement.
Designed as a versatile family mobility solution, the STARGAZER combines spacious practicality with modern styling and advanced technology, making it suitable for daily commuting, long-distance travel and recreational outings.
The model features a distinctive aerodynamic profile and Hyundai’s signature full-width rear LED light bar, while a more rugged STARGAZER X variant makes its debut alongside the standard model. The SUV-inspired version receives additional exterior enhancements, including sportier bumpers, overfenders, a rear spoiler and darkened exterior badging.
Inside, the three-row cabin is designed to maximise passenger comfort and usability. Key features include a digital instrument and infotainment display of up to 10.25 inches, wireless smartphone charging and integrated foldable tables behind the front seats.
Powering the vehicle is a 1.5-litre Smartstream petrol engine paired with an Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT). The STARGAZER is also equipped with Hyundai SmartSense advanced driver assistance technologies, including Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go functionality.
To further boost customer confidence, Hyundai will offer the model with an eight-year or 160,000-kilometre warranty package.
At launch, the STARGAZER will be available in three variants, with indicative pricing beginning from RM99,000 for the seven-seater Style model, followed by the seven-seater Prime at approximately RM109,000 and the six-seater STARGAZER X from around RM121,000.
Visitors attending KLIMS 2026, which runs until June 21, can view the vehicle up close, participate in test drives and place bookings directly at the Hyundai booth.
The preview underscores Hyundai’s strategy of broadening its Malaysian portfolio beyond performance and electrified models by offering practical, technology-driven mobility solutions tailored to local consumers and modern family lifestyles.
